Well, nothingmuch has really happened since I last posted...
So far the rehearsals for the Celtic Quartet have gone well. I am trying my best to memorize a few of them... Red, Red Rose is pretty easy; the Gloomy Night (apparently quite a rare one for Burns, in that it was in pure English, not broad Scots) has 4 verses, so I'm not guarantee-ing anyone that it will be memorized :)
Because of the price of the performances, my parents aren't able to attend either of them, but since Doug had a gig at Borders on Sat. night, he invited us to come along and sing a bit during this sets. This way, my parents were able to see at least some of the stuff that we do.
I went to the gym--for the first time in my life-- BEFORE work. That was interesting. And not quite bad :) It just takes planning (having breakfasts and lunches already made so you don't have to hurry any more than you already have to).
Re: Tristan and Isolde.... I was pretty disappointed. I'm sure the movie was decent, but when you've read the legend, you tend to be pretty disappointed. To be fair, there are a number of versions, none the same, though 2 of them share quite a bit of detail. This film took away the LOVE POTION. That's the main detail in the early part of the story. Any Wagner fans will also be disappointd. The acting was fine, and I did enjoy King Mark as well as Tristan .
I've also received a letter of inquiry to another State position a few levels up and over; the pay wouldn't begin too much higher, but it has potential. So... between my "other things" that I've got brewing, this new possible interview, and hopefully another few things not too far from now, my future (at least financially) looks not too dim :)
OK Am I the only one who likes Dancing with the Stars? Am I the only one who is looking forward to Skating with Celebrities? Please comment!
I'm trying something new... until I get more traffic for this journal (I admit the major burden is upon me to keep POSTING somewhat frequently), I'm going to make a few public posts.
